Online Chat Instructions

Private Chat: Select a user's screen-name then click this icon to request a private chat.
Ignore: Select a user's screen-name then click this icon to stop this user from being able to chat with you.
Logout from Server: Click this icon to logout from the chat session and return to the eXpressSuite.
Float Interface: Allows you to make the chat console a separate window so as to allow changing its position on the screen, resizing, etc. Click again to return to the normal display.
Open Online Help: Opens the online help screen.
Rooms: Use the room tab on the bottom right to enter Room 2 or 3. You can be in more than one room at once and see both by "floating" each window.
Options: Change colors, audio alerts.
If you highlight a user's screen name in the user panel but do not perform any of the icon actions, and then you type a message in the text box, your message will only be received by the highlighted user. (It will say in the console, for example, "John has WHISPERED to Jane.") If you inadvertently do this, you will need to make sure the name is unselected (or that your own name is highlighted) and then retype the message to all users.
Also, if you click the eraser icon, you will clear the entire screen of text shown on your screen. It will still be accessible if you request a chat transcript after the chat, but you will not be able to scroll up to see what was just said.
