Ways to Give

All gifts count toward AnewAU.  Donors may choose to make an unrestricted gift to the AU Fund for Excellence, or designate to any school, college, department, program, or project.

Gifts to the AU Fund for Excellence, Dean’s funds, Library, Athletics, and Campus Life funds provide budget-relieving support, allowing AU to meet its greatest needs.  Donors may make designated gifts at any level to a specific purpose or project.

Making a Gift

Regardless of amount and designation, here’s what you should know about making a gift or pledge payment to AU:

• American University’s Federal Tax ID number is 53-0196549.
• Gifts by credit card. Credit card gifts may be made online (see Make a Gift). Donors may also mail a pledge card or letter with credit card information, or call 202-885-5900 to make a gift by phone during business hours.
• Gifts of stock. Donors should provide their broker with the following information about AU’s brokerage account.

• Corporate Matching Gifts. Increase the impact of your donation with a company matching gift.
