What is a value added internship?

The AU Career Center is compiling a list of internships which while they may be unpaid, there is still a benefit to a student’s participation as a volunteer. In “addition” to developing skills, “Value Added” internship programs offer more than just the experience. This may mean a structured mentoring program, intern participation in training and seminars, lunch or travel expenses and more! Participation in an unpaid internship can be a concern for many students, hopefully, a “Value Added” experience can ease the burden.
