Bio
LANE SHIOJI is a clarinet instructor in the applied music program. He received a Bachelor of Music in Clarinet Performance degree from Baylor University, a Master of Music in Clarinet Performance degree and Performer’s Certificate from Northwestern University. While at Northwestern he was a student of Clark Brody and Robert Marcellus.

Mr. Shioji is a native of El Paso, TX. He began his military service in 1992 with the United States Army Field Band and in 1996 joined the United States Army Band, “Pershing’s Own”. He has played with the Chicago Civic Orchestra, Waco Symphony Orchestra, East Texas Symphony Orchestra, Irving Symphony Orchestra, and the American Waterways Wind Orchestra. Solo experiences include performances with the U.S Army Band “Pershing’s Own”, U.S. Army Field Band, the Landon Symphonette, and the El Paso Symphony Orchestra. In addition, he was awarded First Prize in the El Paso Symphony Guild “Young Artist Concerto Competition” and the Pegasus College Music Student Competition. He joined the American University Music Faculty in 2006.
