Additional Information: Charles Tesconi researches and teaches linkages among socioeconomic status, education policy, and opportunity. Tesconi's current project is a study of child poverty and its relationship to educational opportunity in the United States. He is the author or coauthor of six books and numerous articles emphasizing the relation between socioeconomic background and educational opportunity. His most recent book, Good Schools (Hampton Press), examines the local policy environments of public schools that have been unusually successful with economically poor students.
