Public Charter School Teachers
American University and DCPS: The School of Education, Teaching & Health has a long tradition of working with teachers in DC Public and DC Public charter schools. The programs listed below were created especially for DC teachers who are either beginning their teaching careers or looking to expand their current teaching expertise and skills.
Alliance for Quality Urban Education (AQUE) - A Teacher Quality Enhancement Partnership Grant
- Graduate Certificates for Licensure in Elementary Education.
- Plus opportunities for experienced teachers to take content specific courses and NBPTS preparation courses.
Capital Excellence: Recruiting, Preparing and Retaining Talented Urban Teachers - A Transition to Teaching Grant
- Graduate Certificates for Licensure in Early Childhood Education, Secondary Education. ESOL and Special Education.
