Welcome to Facilities Operations at American University! Together, we make up one unit of Facilities Management.

Facilities Operations (FO) provides the following services:

• Corrective Maintenance (2fix)
• Preventative Maintenance
• Minor facility alterations (FSR)
• Building system operations

You may request these services by calling 2fix or submitting an on-line service request (2fix).

Facilities Operations is comprised of four sub-units: Building Maintenance Operations, Central Plant Operations, Planned Maintenance Programs and Building Automation Systems. These four units work collaboratively to assure that university facilities meet the needs of the community. Campus facilities are split into five zones in order to better deliver service to our customers. Most services are delivered through staff assigned to geographic zones. Working in zones helps the staff learn about their customers' needs and the requirements of particular facilities.

Occasionally the zone assignments of FO staff are changed to keep the staff fresh and to keep fresh eyes on our facility responsibilities.

We recognize that the AU community and our many campus visitors are affected by the quality and condition of campus facilities and FO utilizes a variety of methods to assure that our facilities are as good as they can be.

Our goal is to exceed customer expectations each time we respond to a request for service.
