Our Self-Help Web site has information on quitting
smoking, and related topics such as anxiety management. In addition, there
is a collection of pamphlets and handouts available in the Self-Help Library
located in the reception area of the Counseling Center, MGC-214.

Hospital Outpatient Addiction Treatment Services
About 10 minutes by car or 20 minutes by bus from campus, Suburban Hospital
offers a 7-week smoking cessation program.
Sibley
Hospital
About 5 minutes from campus by car. SIbley Hospital offers a Fresh Start
smoking cessation program. Four sessions, once a week, in the evenings. Call
(202) 537-4500 to sign up in advance; programs offered quarterly; new session
starting in September. THis program is FREE!
AU
Psychology Department
Free
counseling groups through the AU Psychology Department are available for smokers
who want to quit. All members of AU (faculty and staff included) as well community
members outside of AU are eligible to participate.
A Counseling Center counselor can also help you locate private providers in the area who offer smoking-cessation treatment. Call x3500 to make an appointment with a counselor.
