Faculty/Staff Last Friday Lunches
GLBTA Success Story
If you’re a G, L, B, T, or A, a member of AU’s faculty/staff community, and looking for an engaging lunch group, the GLBTA Faculty/Staff Last Friday Lunches are for you.
Last Friday Lunches, originally called First Friday Lunches, are held, as the name suggests, the last Friday of each month. The lunches provide a safe space of open dialogue that is not limited to conversations surrounding GLBT issues.
Sara Bendoraitis, the Director of the GLBTA Resource Center, knew of the successes of the First Friday Lunches and wanted to bring the lunch time chat sessions back to the AU faculty and staff community.
“The lunches are really a great opportunity to learn about AU and its culture,” explained Sara.” It’s an especially great network of resources to refer students to and for new and seasoned staff and faculty to form ties.”
In an hour’s time, topics range from serious to fun, GLBT issues to where a vacation was spent. No one can remember when the lunch program started but all who have participated over the years would agree that they have become a highlight of their time spent at AU.
