Email at AU


AU provides email accounts for all faculty, staff, and students. Important messages from the university are often only sent by email, so it is very important for you to check your AU email regularly or forward your mail to another account. Your email account is created as part of the IT OnBoarding process (full time staff), or when you complete the self-service account creation application via the myAU.american.edu portal (faculty and part-time staff). Your email address is displayed during that process.


  • Faculty and Staff Email: Email for faculty and staff is on the Office 365 platform, which is hosted by Microsoft.
  • Student Email: AU has partnered with Google to provide email service to students.
