Patch Management helps to safeguard AU-owned computers and AU data from cyber criminals looking to exploit applications that are out of date. While the Office of Information Technology continues to install patches on AU workstations on a standard monthly schedule, you may find it beneficial to run the LANDesk Comprehensive Patch Tool.
This lightweight tool patches all vulnerabilities listed in the LANDesk database, which is updated every morning. The Comprehensive Patch Tool patches many third party applications and utilities, such as Adobe Air, Adobe Flash, Adobe Reader, AIM, Mozilla Firefox, Skype, and much more.
You can access the Comprehensive Patch Tool from the Software Deployment Portal, which is a feature of LANDesk that allows OIT to place software patches and applications in one convenient location for users to update and install software from their desktops. Instructions can be found in the Related Links on the right.
