As the semester draws to a close, I want to share a short video message to update you on some other highlights from the past few months, including:

  • A visit from former President Bill Clinton, who accepted the inaugural WONK of the Year award
  • AU's 126th commencement ceremonies

  • Celebration of the academic & professional accomplishments of our graduating students

  • Progress in national rankings for our schools and colleges

  • Creation of an endowed chair in Russian History and Culture

  • A diverse array of leaders who visited campus

  • A $1.5 million gift to the Campaign for SOC

  • Approval of our transformational campus plan

  • Sustainability efforts and green initiatives

I will issue a written communication to campus next week to formally conclude the semester.  We look forward to seeing you back on campus in August.

American University's 2011 Campus Plan is a "roadmap" that details proposals and objectives to enhance and build upon our campus facilities for the next decade. An overarching theme of the Campus Plan is to bring more of our undergraduate students back to live on campus.
