Garrett Schlichte joined American University in June of 2015 and serves as the Coordinator of Orientation, Transition & Retention. In the role Garrett oversees the successful transition of new and transfer students from their previous institution to American University. In addition to Eagle Summit, Garrett also works with Welcome Week programming, including Explore and Discover DC, as well as All-American Weekend. Prior to arriving at American, Garrett completed his Master's Degree at The University of Connecticut and his undergraduate work at Florida State University. Professionally Garrett's interests lie at the intersection of student leader engagement and empathy development as it relates to the student experience.
