Katherine Kirlin

Office of the President

• Katherine Kirlin plans and coordinates campus events such as Campus Beautification Day, Board of Trustees meetings, groundbreaking ceremonies, conferences, and awards dinners. As a member of the Special Events office, she also works closely with the president's staff when visiting heads of state or members of Congress come to AU. She works with faculty, staff, and students to provide guidance on protocol and event planning. Prior to working at AU, she worked in special events at the Smithsonian Institution and in public affairs.
  
  Since joining AU ten years ago, she has enjoyed seeing the creation of the Katzen Arts Center and the AU Arboretum. She is a southerner with a deep affection for her New Orleans upbringing. Two years of living in Europe during school ignited a lifelong interest in international culture.
