Terri Y. McGuire is a native of North Carolina, but has been living very close to the District for almost two years. She completed her undergraduate studies at Wake Forest University. She then worked as a Medical Technician for adolescents at a nonprofit health agency prior to obtaining a Master’s degree in Public Health. Directly afterwards, she completed her Physician Assistant training at Duke University. As a board-certified Physician Assistant, she has worked in multiple medical settings, including Primary Care, Internal Medicine, Urgent Care and Liver Transplant Surgery. Currently, she works in the Research Department at Whitman-Walker Health and has been with American University Student Health Center since January 2017. Terri is extremely passionate about the ways in which medicine intersects with public health and she is excited about engaging with the AU community.
