Thank you for your creative and imaginative efforts to maintain communication with your students during the recent snow storms. While classes were canceled, many faculty and students engaged in electronic teaching / learning exchanges throughout the week. As a result, many classes were able to stay on track and minimize the effects of the storm on their class schedules.
In the aftermath of the storms, you are likely assessing your instructional needs with your students. I have heard a variety of approaches being implemented to compensate for the time lost. Examples include scheduling make-up sessions, adding 10 minutes of seat time through the end of the term, and assigning supplemental reading.
If you choose to schedule make-up sessions, please note that campus facilities are open on Saturday and Sunday. While there are regularly scheduled weekend classes, the university has ample facilities available for weekends use.
