Funding Tools

The Office of Sponsored Programs subscribes to Pivot. Pivot is a web-based research tool that allows the user to identify funding opportunities and get regular funding updates. Pivot is the most comprehensive, editorially maintained database of funding opportunities with a database of pre-populated scholar profiles.

Pivot's editorial team has already created AU faculty profiles. Faculty just need to claim their profile by going to http://pivot.cos.com and click on the sign-up link. Please note that when signing up you must be within the university's IP range.

The AU library subscribes to the Foundation Directory Online Professional. This database provides subscribers with access to an unprecedented wealth of timely, comprehensive information on grantmakers and their grants. Included is a database of the entire universe of over 140,000 foundations, corporate giving programs, and grantmaking public charities in the U.S.; a database of over 4,000 sponsoring companies, offering a quick pathway to corporate funders; a database of over 3.8 million recently awarded grants; and a keyword-searchable database of over 1 million recently filed IRS Forms 990 and 990-PF.

The AU library also subscribes to SciVal Funding. This database is an innovative web-based tool that helps you find new opportunities. In addition, by reviewing award history you can gain awareness of new sponsors that match your research interests. SciVal Funding provides researchers, administrators and research development professionals with valuable information about grant opportunities and award recipients.
