Applying for Graduation
Candidates for degrees should apply to graduate through their my.american.edu account. Students apply for graduation during their last semester of study. The application is available under the "Academics" section of the portal. No fee is required.

| Spring 2010 | January 11, 2010 - February 1, 2010 |
| Fall 2009 | August 24, 2009 - December 14, 2009 |
| Summer 2009 | May 11, 2009 - August 6, 2009 |
Only after application for graduation has been made can the Office of the Registrar begin processing the necessary information for final certification of graduation.
Students who fail to complete all degree requirements by the end of the term for which they applied to graduate must reapply in order to graduate later.
