Currently enrolled AU students receive registration information through their American University e-mail account. Students who have not yet received the notification should contact registrar@american.edu. Continuing undergraduate students are eligible to register according to their total completed credits; see the Priority Registration schedule below for the first date of eligibility for registration. Continuing graduate students are eligible to register beginning October 23 at noon.

New Students: General Registration is open to all students beginning December 7, 2009.

Students registering on or before December 4, 2009 (advance registration with billing) must pay the balance owed by December 18, 2009. Students registering after December 4, 2009 (direct registration) must pay the balance due, less expected financial aid, on the day they register. Students registering after January 8, 2010 pay an additional $50 late registration fee.
