African-American Literature FA2 (3) A survey of African-American literature beginning with the poet Phillis Wheatley and the slave narratives of the 1700s and concluding with Malcolm X and Toni Morrison. The emphasis is on the continuity of black writing within its historical and cultural contexts. Usually Offered: spring.
