SOCY-531 Transnational Reach (3) Course Level: Undergraduate/Graduate

Transnational Reach (3) Topics vary by section. This course examines the impact of transnationalism, whether corporate, migrant, governmental and/or other transnational process, on people's everyday lives in a specific area of the world, including Latin America, the Arab world, and Africa. The course encourages application of sociological knowledge to societies beyond the United States in order consider the relevance of sociological theories elsewhere in the world and develop a deeper understanding of other societies. Usually Offered: alternate falls. Repeatable for credit with different topic. Prerequisite: three courses in sociology.
