The Fashion Industry: Introduction to the Fashion Business (3) Examines the key business components and prominent careers available in the fashion industry including fashion industry structure (couture to athletic wear, accessories and shoes, global firms, and new ventures, etc), product design and creation, and production and marketing. The course also addresses U.S. and global supply chains, fair trade and labor laws, and sustainability. Students research new and emerging technologies and discuss the impact those technologies have on the future of design, supply and demand, and delivery.

From the biggest studio tentpoles to the smallest indie flicks, the film industry is undergoing seismic shifts in how films enter the marketplace. For students who want to act, write, direct, produce, or be the lawyer or agent working on the deals, this course is essential for learning about the business of film.
