“I love TV!” is a common quote of Mrs. Kenya M. Sumner, so she decided to join the ranks of those brave souls behind the lens.
One of her first jobs out of college was at CBS, where she was a Legal Assistant. Working at CBS gained her complete access to the production side of TV and the people who make television.
Kenya then moved to Maryland and briefly attended the Corcoran College of Art and Design, majoring in Graphic Design. Here, she honed in on her creative eye and developed new ways to ‘think outside the box’. She then decided to head back to what first brought her joy, television production. Since her start as a Production Assistant with the annual PBS broadcast, A Capitol Fourth and the National Memorial Day Concert, she has worked on many productions, including commercials for Nike and the Maryland Lottery and live television shows like the Super Bowl Half Time Show. It was in Maryland that she also was blessed to become an entrepreneur and opened up Prep for Filming, a production rental equipment company.
Kenya M. Sumner, a graduate of Howard University in Washington, DC, is a self employed Production Manager, in the Metro DC area and is pursuing her M.A. in Producing for TV, Film and Video at American University.
Kenya currently resides in Clinton, MD with her husband and daughter.

My name is Agnes Memuna Erskine and I was born and raised in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area (Maryland and Virginia mainly). I received my Bachelor’s degree in Radio, TV, and Film (concentration in Audio Production) from Howard University in 2013. I am an MA student in the Producing Film, Television, and Video program. I currently work as an Administrative Assistant in Silver Spring, MD, however my passion is for entertainment media. In my rare, spare time, I like going to live Gospel, and R&B concerts. I am currently cultivating my new media production company called Kiss My Aggie Entertainment, and I’m producing my first documentary called: “Sexy and Saved”. After completing the Producing Film, Television, and Video program, I hope to continue to produce Christian films and documentaries, as well as other forms of New Media. I look forward to serving as the SOC GSC Social Media Director for the 2016-2017 school year!
