U.S. Office of Personnel Management and American University Partnership
The Center for Leadership Development (CLD) of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management and American University through the School of Public Affairs have established a partnership that will grant graduate credit in American University's Master of Public Administration (MPA) and Key Executive Leadership MPA Programs to students who successfully complete certain programs and courses of the CLD.
This agreement is subject to renewal July 17, 2016.
Leadership for a Democratic Society Program (LDS) at FEI
American University will grant nine hours of credit toward the Key MPA to graduates of the LDS Program who are accepted and enroll in the Key MPA. Upon University determination that the LDS program meets the University's standards for granting credit toward the Key MPA, LDS Program graduates will be required to complete 27 on-campus credits in the Key MPA, rather than the current required 36 credits.
Eligible CLD Courses Other Than the LDS Program
CLD students who are accepted and enroll in the 36 credit Key Executive Leadership MPA, and who successfully complete nine credits from eligible CLD courses other than LDS, will receive their nine credits through:
a six credit reduction in the number of graduate credits required to complete the Key MPA program, and
a reduction in tuition equal to the current cost of three credits.
As a result, such CLD students will be required to complete 30 on-campus graduate credits rather than the current required 36 credits.
