English Language and Training Academy- The English Language and Training Academy (ELTA) offers a variety of programs. Students of all levels can improve their English skills in our intensive or part-time English Language Programs. ELTA also offers bridge programs for students who are conditionally or provisionally admitted to undergraduate or graduate degree programs at American University.
Intercultural Management Training- American University's Intercultural Management Training provides customized training for effective communication, negotiation and leadership across cultures. It consults with organizations across sectors and trains personnel to recognize and manage cultural differences, using them as positive leverage in the global marketplace. American University provides academic courses, workshops, symposia and conferences covering a wide-range of topics dealing with intercultural relations.
GRE Prep Courses– Preparatory course to take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). The course provides instruction on the Quantitative, Verbal, and Analytic Writing sections of the exam. Sessions are offered during the fall, spring, and summer semesters.
GMAT Prep Courses- Preparatory course for the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). The course provides instruction on the Quantitative, Verbal, Analytical Writing, and Integrated Reasoning sessions of the exam. Sessions are offered during the fall, spring, and summer semesters.
LSAT Prep Courses- Preparatory course for the Law School Admission Test (LSAT). The course provides instruction on the Logical Reasoning, Analytical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, and Essay sections of the exam. Sessions are offered during the fall, spring, and summer semesters.
The Adult Career Coaching Center (ACCC) at American University is a resource available to current and potential graduate students in the School of Professional & Extended Studies. The ACCC provides support separate from and in addition to the University Career Center at Butler Pavilion and is specifically targeted at an adult learner audience.
