Register for Classes
Currently enrolled students will be able to view their registration time via their Student Planning page on Eagle Service on their student portal. Students will be assigned a specific registration date based on the number of credits they have earned. Students may receive an additional email or information from their academic unit prior to registration.
Alumni: As a graduate of American University, you can audit one non-tutorial course per semester for the nominal fee of $100 (plus course fees). Please follow the Alumni Audit link for additional information.
Consortium: With the appropriate approvals, undergraduate and graduate degree students may take courses for AU residence credit at member institutions of the Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area, provided the course is not offered at American University. Off-campus courses, online courses, courses in law and medicine, independent study and reading courses, special institutes, and noncredit courses (except ROTC at Georgetown and Howard) are excluded from the consortium. International Students: All F-1 and J-1 international students who are enrolling at American University for the first time or for a new program are required to bring to International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) their passport, I-94, and I-20, or DS-2019. International students are not required to obtain an international student advisor’s signature to register unless they are registering for an internship or cooperative education field experience.
