If you've dreamed of moving to New York City to intern with a theater company, get a head start with the Alliance of Resident Theatres/New York annual Theatre Internship Fair, scheduled for Saturday, March 16, in the Big Apple.
The Alliance of Resident Theatres/New York (A.R.T./New York) is the service and advocacy organization for more than 300 not-for-profit theaters located throughout New York City. The A.R.T./New York Internship Fair provides students with the opportunity to meet working theater professionals from 50 New York City-based not-for-profit theater companies. These companies are seeking interns for the summer semester, and undergraduates, graduates, and recent alumni from around the country are encouraged to apply.
The fair is free, but participants must RSVP in order to attend; do so at www.art-newyork.org/intern before 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 13. Students will also have the opportunity to upload a copy of their resume to the intern e-file, which is a year-round database searchable by A.R.T./New York member theaters looking to hire interns or part-time help.
Students are encouraged to bring copies of their resume. Business casual attire is suggested.
