In gratitude for their generosity, an exclusive group of AU supporters gathered for a special celebration at the National Aquarium in Baltimore. Guests were treated to a dolphin show, a private opportunity to view the aquarium’s exhibits after visiting hours, and a unique presentation by College of Arts and Sciences faculty member Kiho Kim, associate professor in the Department of Environmental Science. Professor Kim entertained and educated attendees with his research on the impact of coastal pollution on the health of coral reefs and other aspects of marine ecosystems.
The Sciences are a significant area of investment at AU. With world-class faculty revitalizing research and curriculum, today's students are prepared not only to become the scientists of the 21st century, but also the future policy makers, political and business leaders who comprehend the complex scientific issues that affect our society.
