The Kogod School of Business has a long-standing partnership with SKEMA Business School, offering students a unique study abroad experience at their campus in Sophia-Antipolis, France. SKEMA is France's largest business school, with three campuses in France as well as locations in China, Morocco, and the US.
SKEMA's Sophia-Antipolis campus is located in the heart of Europe's largest technology park, boasting companies such as Honeywell, Accenture, and Hewlett Packard, allowing them to infuse practical application of management skills into their curriculum. Its international diversity (including students from over 40 nationalities) and geographic location on the French Riviera also offer tremendous cultural diversity and scenic beauty.
This program allows students to fully experience all aspects of a study abroad program - direct enrollment at a foreign university, travel opportunities, and cultural enrichment. AU students will take classes in the Bachelors EAI program, which includes courses in the fields of Business as well as Communications. Students have the opportunity to take core, specialization and/or elective courses, and nearly all classes are taught in English. Sample course options (subject to change depending on availability) include:
Organizational Behavior (3 credits, equivalent to MGMT-353)
Corporate Finance (3 credits, equivalent to FIN-365)
Marketing Principles (3 credits, equivalent to MKTG-300)
Production and Operations Management (3 credits, equivalent to ITEC-355)
Consumer Behavior (3 credits, equivalent to MKTG-301)
Advertising and Promotion Management (3 credits, equivalent to MKTG-412)
International Marketing (3 credits, equivalent to IBUS-301)
International Business (3 credits, equivalent to IBUS-300)
Students arrange their own housing in France, using SKEMA Business School's database of over 1,000 lodgings, accessible via the school's website. Students typically live in Juan les Pins, Antibes, or Nice in one of the many "residences" on the French Riviera, and commute to campus via train and/or bus. Students can begin their search here. Estimated costs for room and board are approximately $1,000/month (in a shared apartment).
Passport & Visa
Students are solely responsible for obtaining a passport and any visas or other immigration documents required for study in France, including any related fees. The Kogod Office of Global Learning Programs will support students in this endeavor with any required letters from the school. Students should visit the Consulate of France in D.C. as well as the Embassy website for their home country to validate entry and exit requirements. Details for US citizens regarding these requirements and other pertinent information can be found on the US State Department website. Students must first work with CampusFrance, a service provided by the Embassy of France, for pre-processing before going to a French Consulate. Once in France, students also need to obtain a Resident Permit with support from SKEMA Business School.
Tuition: The standard semester tuition, as well as the Student Technology Fee, will be billed by and paid directly to AU.
Program Fee: In addition to tuition, there is a non-refundable $500 program fee which includes mandatory supplemental emergency travel insurance through AU. This program fee is paid to AU through the Kogod Office of Global Learning Programs.
Housing: Housing is arranged and paid for by students directly to their landlord.
Travel: Students are responsible for the reservation and payment of travel to and from France.
Passport & Visa: Students are responsible for obtaining a passport, visa, or other required immigration documents, including related fees. Passports must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the planned end of stay in France.
Incidentals: Meals, local transportation, EU Social Security (approximately 200 euros), Resident Permit expenses, books, academic supplies, basic housing set-up, laundry, cell phone & Internet service, toiletries, shopping & souvenirs, etc. are the student's responsibility.
Financial Aid: Students planning to use financial aid should consult with the Financial Aid office to determine coverage and eligibility.

Once all of your application materials have been received:
Your application will be reviewed by the Kogod Office of Global Learning Programs. If approved, you will be prompted to complete the SKEMA online application, and your application will be reviewed by SKEMA.
Once accepted to participate in the program, you will be registered for a "placeholder" course, KSB-410, and your student account will be charged the applicable tuition and program fee.
You will be contacted by SKEMA Business School with additional information regarding course registration, logistics, etc.
You will need to obtain your student visa.
You will need to complete a number of additional forms for both AU and SKEMA Business School.
You will attend a mandatory pre-departure session at AU covering key logistical, administrative, and safety & health information.
