Masters in Sustainability Management Degree Program
The AU/Kogod M.S. in Sustainability Management degree is designed to integrate future-oriented business education with environmental and social science, public policy, and international issues.

Guides student selection of electives (from among many dozens across the university and the Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area) into one of four sustainability management career tracks.
The Masters of Science in Sustainability Management program prepares students who plan to be professionally-trained, action-oriented sustainability leaders to help advance sustainability in large corporations, entrepreneurial startups, consultancies, and organizations in the public and non-profit sectors, both in the Washington, DC region and beyond. Graduates of the program will be well poised to successfully lead in developing and implementing multi-faceted solutions to environmental, societal, and other cross-sector problems in business organizations, not-for-profits, or the public sector.
The MSSM is one of the few non-MBA sustainability programs housed in a business school, and is fortunate to have the resources of one of the greenest universities in the U.S. to help advance sustainability both on-campus and off-campus.
Faculty from across disciplines bring diverse perspectives to the classroom. Courses are offered by distinguished faculty from the Kogod School of Business, as well as from the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Communications, School of International Service, and School of Public Affairs.
In addition to the wealth of sustainability management education resources availableon campus, we also encourage students to consider the wide variety of sustainability-related courses available through the Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area. Through the Consortium, students can register for courses at 11 different universities in the Washington, D.C. region, enhancing their academic experience with perspectives from multiple institutions.
