AU Honors | Annual Awards

The Office for Honors and Scholars Programs recognizes outstanding students from Honors, Community-Based Research Scholars, and AU Scholars through awards given at the annual Honors and Scholars Awards Ceremony.

Student Awards

Honors and Scholars students can be nominated by other students, faculty or staff, or they can self-nominate for an award. Nominations should include a brief description--of 75 words or fewer, ideally--of how and why the nominee meets the criteria for one of the following award groups:

Outstanding Sophomore, Junior, Senior, and Academic Achievement Award
These students’ passion for a subject—or for their studies in general—has carried over into extracurricular pursuits, and their classwork and course selections reflect a growing expertise as well as broad-ranging interests.

Students who may be considered for the highly selective Academic Achievement Award may have presented papers or other significant projects at conferences or in other contexts on campus or beyond AU. When possible, please share details about these accomplishments.
