Advising & Student Resources

SPA advising

School of Public Affairs students receive quality advice and help from our full time professional staff advisors.

Incoming Fall 2016 First-Year Students
We are excited that you will joining SPA this Fall! We know that you are eager to get ready and starting registering, but registration for new students does not open until early June. However, you will be receiving an email on May 4th with instructions on how to access the First Year Registration Tutorial. This tutorial will allow you to prepare for registration, change your major (optional), draft up a schedule, and more! If you haven't already done so, please set up your AU student account! This will give you access to the portal as well as your AU Email, which is the communication method we will be using for the tutorial.

Over 90% of undergraduate students, in the School of Public Affairs, complete at least one internship during their academic career. Most, however, complete multiple internships at various locations for a more well-rounded background. For help finding an internship, you should talk with your professors and advisors or head to the Career Center.

Study Abroad

Students do not just take classes here in DC. They take classes all over the world. Check out the possibilities through AU Abroad.
