Opportunities at AU

American University’s community members are active citizens, working toward global understanding through their contributions on campus, in Washington, D.C., and around the world. By participating in campus events, community engagement, and internships, AU students experience real-life learning and exposure to new cultures that promote the ideals of service, diversity, inclusion, and sustainability. As students work toward their career goals, they have the opportunity to learn from exceptional faculty and visiting world leaders. They also grow personally through involvement in residential learning communities, student organizations and clubs, and intramural and Division I athletics.

Office of Campus Life

NSP - Eagle Summit 2012 (2)

The Office of Campus Life includes 13 different departments dedicated to supporting students in areas ranging from spiritual life to academics. We strive to create a campus environment that fosters student learning, development, and success.

Whether we’re collaborating with student leaders on service opportunities, hosting concerts and guest speakers, or welcoming each incoming class to campus, our portfolio is as varied as it is dedicated to student engagement.
