Bio: Professor Sanati joined the finance department in 2018 after receiving his PhD from the University of Minnesota. His research interests are in the fields of corporate finance, focusing on issues related to capital raising by firms. His research has been published in top finance journals, such as the Journal of Financial Economics and the Review of Financial Studies. At Kogod, he teaches “Business Finance” to undergraduate students and “Advanced Quant Methods and Machine Learning in Finance” to graduate students. Prior to joining academia, Dr. Sanati worked as a financial analyst in the financial services industry, and co-founded and managed a firm in the field of engineering.
