First-Year Honors Housing

AU Honors is a living-learning community. Honors students take classes together. They live together in their first year in Anderson Hall in South Campus. The floor is made up of students in AU Honors, Frederick Douglass Distinguished Scholars and Community-Based Research Scholars. All first-year students at AU are housed on South Campus, so Honors students get the full first-year experience.

As a member of the Honors community, you'll be supported by a Resident Assistant (RA) and an Honors Program Associate (PA). Your RA and PA provide the living-learning communities with special programming such as faculty lectures, debates and trivia nights. Participation in a living-learning community is a great way for Honors students to connect with spirited, ambitious, and studious individuals dedicated to academics and a rich social life. Placement is through AU's Housing & Residence Life.

A number of courses in the Honors curriculum are taught in Anderson Hall. Enjoy this easy commute to class! Anderson Hall is also home to the Honors office, so the on-site staff and event flyers add another layer of warmth and support for students.
