Orientation Leaders (OLs) are American University students who assist the Orientation, Transition & Retention professional staff with the implementation of orientation programs for all new students at American University. There are two AU Orientation Leader roles.
First-Year Orientation Leaders (FYOLs) serve as a resource for first-year students, and get the opportunity to learn more about American University while developing skills to help them personally and professionally. FYOLs serve as leaders for all first-year students attending Eagle Summit, AU's two-day orientation program held in June, July, and August.
Guest & Transfer Orientation Leaders (GTOLs) serve as a resource for guests and transfer students, and will get the opportunity to learn more about AU while developing skills to help them personally and professionally. GTOLs will serve as leaders for all parents, families, guests, and transfer students attending orientation. Guest Eagle Summit is American University's two-day orientation program held in June, July, and August for guests of incoming students and is run concurrently with the student orientation program.
