Alum's Film Screens at San Diego Black Film Festival

Courting Lewis Baker Film

American University School of Communication (SOC) alumnus Richard Fields’ thesis film, “Courting Lewis Baker,” has been selected to screen at the San Diego Black Film Festival. The film is a powerful story about the impact of an estranged relationship between a father and his son.

The San Diego Black Film Festival is the first and largest black film festival of the year that puts a spotlight on African American and African Diaspora cinema. Numerous film festival representatives scout new films from SDBFF.

Fields graduated last year with an MFA in Film and Electronic Media, and was and SOC’s 2015 Commencement speaker. He is an independent filmmaker in both fiction and documentary.
