Bio
Karl VonZabern is a Ph.D. student in the political science department with a specialty in comparative politics and methods. His research focuses on the politics of climate change adaptation and mitigation from a comparative environmental perspective. He uses both qualitative and causal inference methods to show how institutions, corporate actors, and states respond to environmental shocks. Prior to coming to AU, Karl taught English in Chile and spent a few summers working in the commercial fishing industry in Alaska. He has done fieldwork conducting interviews and surveys in both Peru and Alaska.
