Sybil Gohari

Adjunct Professorial Lecturer Department of Art

Sybil E. Gohari, PhD, is an art historian specializing in 20th century art of the United States, with a focus on the correlation of race and gender to the critical, market and academic success of artists. Dr. Gohari has been published in a number of scholarly journals and publications, including Woman’s Art Journal, with additional chapters and exhibition reviews. She has also presented at various conferences and symposia, including presentations at the Driskell Center, Southeastern College Art Conference, Feminist Art History Conference, and College Art Association. Dr. Gohari has participated in a number of panel discussions, including at Hillyer Art Space.
