Why a Writing and Rhetoric Minor?

Writing and rhetoric are all around us, in our majors, in our classes, in popular culture and politics, on social media—everywhere!

Our minor is designed to:

  • WRT 220: Introduction to Rhetoric 
  • WRT 310: Researching Writing
  • WRT 320: Teaching and Learning Writing
  • WRT 350: Topics in Contemporary Rhetorical Theory
  • WRT 355: Topics in Public and Civic Rhetoric

Minor Requirements

  • 18 credit hours, a minimum of 9 credit hours at or above 300-level, and at least 12 credit hours unique to the minor

  • WRT 350 Topics in Contemporary Rhetorical Theory (3 credits) (new course) (may be repeated with a different topic)
