Overview & Events

In a sweeping exhibition, long-time CBS journalist Bob Schieffer (CBS Evening News, Face the Nation, 60 Minutes, presidential debate moderator) trades microphone for paint brush to document one of America’s most difficult eras. He shows us how the COVID pandemic, and the efforts to combat it, was just the beginning of a deep national divide.

Ultimately, his paintings tell a story of hope. Awful times such as these often produce heroes. He counts Youth Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman among them and finds inspiration in her poem “The Hill We Climb” as she tells us “For there is always light, if only we’re brave enough to see it. If only we’re brave enough to be it.”
