Fall 2023 Student Move-In August 20 through August 27

Moving day at AU

It’s that time of year again, when new and continuing students return to American University’s campus for the start of a new academic year. Returning students and their families are expected to arrive throughout the week of Sunday, August 20 – Sunday, August 27. New students and their families are expected to arrive on campus Tuesday, August 22 and Wednesday, August 23. All move-in times are between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. unless there has been a specific request for an early move in. Cars will be directed to enter both Fletcher and Glover Gates for drop-offs.

On August 22 and August 23, rideshares will be directed to enter Fletcher Gate only. All other vehicles will enter campus at Glover Gate.

AU will have movers and volunteers ready to help students unload, provide directions and more. American University Police Department officers will be available at Fletcher and Glover gates to ensure traffic on campus is maintained and to ensure through traffic passage continues on Massachusetts and Rockwood.

For more information regarding student move-in days, visit the Fall Move-In Day webpage.
