Bio
Bushra Asif joined the Office of Merit Awards in April 2022. At OMA she directs the Early Identification Program, which provides programming and advising for high-performing second-year students, and advises students on a range of study abroad, science, and post-graduate opportunities including the Gilman International Scholarship Program, Fulbright UK Summer Institutes, Boren Scholarship, Critical Langauge Scholarship, and Marshall/Rhodes. She also manages the office’s administrative staff and oversees applicant recruitment and events. Bushra has previously worked as the Fulbright Program Advisor and at the Graduate College, University of Oklahoma. At OU she also taught courses on Women’s Rights in the Developing World and Women and Gender in South Asia. She is an ABD in Political Science from the University of Chicago and holds an MPhil in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge where she was a British Council Chevening Scholar.
