Internship and Career Advising

Capitalize on the expertise and personalized guidance that you can receive from an experienced team of career advisors dedicated to the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Communication, School of International Service, and School of Public Affairs.

As an undergraduate, graduate student, or alum within one year of graduation, you are invited to regularly meet with your advisor to achieve the following objectives:

  • Understand your interests, skills, personality traits, and work values through self-assessment.
  • Hone your research skills in order to explore career and advanced degree options.
  • Choose a major, concentration, or advanced degree that aligns with your career goals.
  • Learn effective search strategies in order to attain internships and jobs.
  • Enhance your application materials, including resumes, cover letters, and portfolios.
  • Refine your professional image and effectively present yourself during networking events and interviews.
  • Evaluate job offers and compensation packages and sharpen your negotiation skills.

Alumni Career Advising

If you graduated more than one year ago, you are invited to meet with our alumni career advisor, Anne Kirchgessner.

Changing careers or finding work in a tight market can be challenging, so we are pleased to provide 30-minute advising appointments at no charge. Anne offers phone and in-person appointments each Wednesday from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m.
