Complete your onboarding tasks in Workday

You’ve been assigned onboarding tasks to complete as a new hire at AU. Log in to Workday and complete your tasks prior to your start date. Please note that new onboarding tasks will appear as you complete assigned tasks.

  • Wage Theft Statement

  • Foreign National Status

  • Personal Information

  • Government IDs

  • Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification - all three steps must be completed within 3 days of your start date.
    This federal requirement shows your proof of U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work in the U.S.

    • Complete Section 1 of the Form I-9 in Workday.

    • Upload your acceptable I-9 documentation to Workday.
      IMPORTANT: This is currently not a task in Workday but must be done to complete the process. Upload your documents in your "Documents" found at:
      • Your Worker Profile > View Profile > Select Personal from the left navigation > Documents tab at the top
    • Meet with the Office of Human Resources to complete Section 2 (reviewing and verifying documents). Present your original, acceptable, and unexpired documentation that you uploaded to Workday to an authorized AU representative. Verify your Form I-9 by:
      • Visiting the Office of Human Resources

        Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
        Walk-ins only. No appointment needed.

      • Schedule a virtual appointment to have your documents verified remotely.

Resources for graduate student workers only

Once you've started in your new position, don't forget to finish any outstanding new hire tasks.

If you haven't already done so,

  • Complete your onboarding tasks in Workday as soon as possible.
  • Complete your Federal Form I-9 (Employment Eligibility). Your offer of employment is contingent upon you providing proof of employment eligibility in the United States and must be completed no later than three (3) days of your first day of work. There are two sections of Form I-9 that are completed in three steps:
  1. Complete Section 1 of the Form I-9 in Workday.
  2. Upload your acceptable I-9 documentation in Workday
    IMPORTANT: This is currently not a task in Workday but must be done to complete the process. Upload your documents in your "Documents" found at Your Worker Profile > View Profile > Select Personal from the left navigation > Documents tab at the top.
  3. Meet with the Office of Human Resources to complete Section 2 (reviewing and verifying documents). Present your original, acceptable, and unexpired documentation that you uploaded to Workday to an authorized AU representative. Verify your Form I-9 by:

As a student worker, you are paid every two weeks (bi-weekly). It is important that you enter your time and submit it weekly to get paid on time.

Time entry

  • Time entry is done in Workday. Submit the time you worked weekly and it will be routed to your supervisor for approval.
