Academic Program Review

OIRA supports academic units within AU in preparing and completing their academic program review (APR). The OIRA assistant provost, in coordination with the Associate Dean for Faculty and Inclusive Excellence, meets with the program’s APR leads to go over the review process and discuss the necessary documentation, both required and recommended. OIRA staff supplies required institutional student data and consults on any additional data that could complement the review.

To assist with data to support the review process, OIRA will provide the unit APR lead(s) with the most recent seven-year historical data, including, where applicable:

  • Undergraduate and graduate student enrollment funnel (applicant to enrolled)
  • New undergraduate and graduate student enrollment by primary major
  • Overall undergraduate and graduate student enrollment by majors and minors
  • Retention and graduation rates for full-time first year and full-time master's students
  • Median time to doctoral degree completion
  • Campus survey results for undergraduate and graduate students

OIRA can also provide supplemental data not required for the APR upon request, including but not limited to credit hours taught by the unit, undergraduate student degree program change tracking, and transfer attrition information.
