Greetings from Patty Caballero
Dear Alumni,
Last week, we celebrated five exceptional AU alumni during our annual Alumni Awards Dinner and Ceremony. The event is one of my very favorites, an amazing opportunity to share stories of impact and refocus on the significance of our work.
This year’s honorees truly embody the spirit of American University, and I am inspired by their remarkable achievements. I hope you’ll enjoy this recap of the event that recounts a memorable night for our community.
I am also excited that we have officially welcomed the class of 2025 to our ranks. We had another amazing lineup of commencement speakers, and I was delighted to participate. This, our largest class in many years, expands the ranks of our more than 150,000 alumni worldwide. Talons up, new alumni!
In case you missed it, there’s more good news from AU this month:
- Vicky Wilkins, former SPA dean, who had served in an interim capacity since 2023, was named Provost and Chief Academic Officer.
- AU is again among the Peace Corps’ Top Volunteer-Producing Schools
- The 2025 University Student Award Winners Excel in Scholarship, Service and Achievement
If you’d like to include engagement with AU in your summer plans, please be in touch to learn more about volunteer opportunities.
Go Eagles!
- Patty Caballero, SOC/BA ’91, Kogod/MBA ’00
