Welcoming the Newest Alumni Board Members
For over 60 years, the American University Alumni Board has played a vital role in championing the spirit of AU, supporting alumni programming, and uplifting the next generation of Eagles. The Alumni Board leads the AU Association—an impressive, 160,000-alumni strong network around the world—and members leverage their talents and insights to partner with AU staff and leadership on community engagement.

Mohd Masoud Andarabi, SIS/MIS ’18

Founder and AI Programs Lead, StabilityMind
Mohd Masoud, School of International Service graduate, is a senior security, intelligence, and technology leader with experience guiding national institutions through major reforms and modernization efforts. He is the Founder and AI Programs Lead at StabilityMind, where he develops AI-driven risk and due-diligence solutions for fragile and conflict-affected regions, and previously served as Afghanistan’s Minister of Interior and Acting Director General of the National Directorate of Security. Mohd is committed to strengthening AU’s global alumni community and supporting students through mentorship and career development initiatives.
Kendall Deese, CAS/BA ’20, WCL/JD ’23

Based in the DC area, Kendall Deese is a practicing attorney with legal experience spanning from the Major League Soccer Players Association to the NFL Players Association. A Double Eagle, Kendall holds a JD from the Washington College of Law, where she served as Managing Editor of the Business Law Review and as a member of both the Women’s Law Association and Sports and Entertainment Law Society, as well as a BA in History and a Certificate in Leadership and Ethical Development from the College of Arts and Sciences.

With an extensive career in public service and government, Mario Diaz works closely with elected officials from the federal, state, local, and Tribal levels of government throughout the country in his role as President of Mario E Diaz & Associates. He is a recognized community leader, with roles on the board of Phoenix Rising FC Youth Soccer Club and as an honorary member of the National Latino Peace Officers Association, among other organizations. A first-generation college student, Mario earned his Master of International Service from American University in spring 2021.
LaDedra Drummond, WCL/MLS ’22

LaDedra Drummond is a dedicated public servant with experience across public and private sectors. She served as a congressional staffer to several prominent members of the U.S. House of Representatives, including the late Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) and Rep. Alma Adams (NC-12). LaDedra is the founder and owner of East Coast Notary, LLC, and previously built an early broadcasting career at CNN’s Larry King Live and CBS News’ Face the Nation with Bob Schieffer, among others. LaDedra holds a Master of Legal Studies from the Washington College of Law.
David Greiner, Kogod/BS ’84

David Greiner earned his BS in Finance from the Kogod School of Business, with a minor in Spanish. A first-generation student, he helped launch a chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi professional business fraternity and was a member of Alpha Sigma Phi social fraternity. David recently retired from Bank of America/Merrill Lynch after a 35-year career in banking and wealth management. His lifelong commitment to volunteering began at AU during an internship at a nonprofit serving low-income immigrants, and he has since served on the boards of numerous organizations.
Genever Oppong, Kogod/BS ’18

CEO and Founder, Black Women Investors Network (BWI)
A Kogod School of Business graduate, Genever Oppong is a private equity investor and startup advisor who helps multi-million-dollar companies scale through capital, strategic guidance, and operational expertise. She is the founder of Akoma Wellness, an inclusive wellness platform, and the co-founder and CEO of the Black Women Investors Network , which addresses the underrepresentation of Black women in private equity and venture capital. Genever has been recognized as a Black Women in Asset Management 40 Under 40 and received the National Association of Investment Companies (NAIC) Rising Star Award.

Walker Sands is a proud graduate of the Kogod School of Business and an advocate for AU's communities. As chair of the Pride Alumni Alliance, he uplifts the most marginalized among AU’s rich LGBTQ+ alumni and student communities and works to empower collective voices. Professionally, as CEO of Cubicle Griot, LLC, Walker guides teams and leaders through innovative strategies that fuel market success and social progress, from implementing modern work innovations for Fortune 100 executives at LinkedIn to improving care for Black families in service and beyond.
