You’ve Graduated—Here’s How AU Is by Your Side for Your Next Chapter

With your AU diploma in hand, you’re now part of an impressive alumni network of over 150,000 (and counting) Eagles throughout the US and around the globe. Here are the resources and opportunities available to you as an AU alum as you navigate your next steps—whether job hunting, grad school, or whatever the future holds! 

The AU Alumni Association: A Powerful Network 

All graduates of AU are automatically part of the AU Alumni Association—no fees, dues, or registration required. And you’re in distinguished company. From members of Congress and heads of state to CEOs and Academy Award winners, your fellow Eagles are leaders across industries and sectors. Know that this network is yours to tap into and leverage! 

  • Regional Chapters: With groups in 10 US cities, our alumni chapters host a variety of programs including networking events, happy hour socials, and community service projects. If you’re staying in the nation’s capital or heading to the Big Apple, join one of AU’s Young Alumni Chapters in DC and NYC for graduates of the last decade (2015—2025). 
  • Shared Communities and Interest Groups: Foster friendship and community with alumni who have shared experiences, interests, and careers. Example groups include the Black Alumni Alliance, Entertainment and Media Alumni Alliance, and Alumni Admissions Volunteer Network. 
  • Alumnifire: The free online platform is the primary hub for self-service mentoring, hiring, and networking with fellow Eagles. Sign up today to explore job postings and professional development opportunities, as well as connect with alumni mentors who are committed to opening doors for new graduates.

Career Resources That Never Expire 

All alumni have lifelong access to central and school-affiliated career services, including resume and cover letter reviews, job boards, and career coaching—all at no cost. 

  • Job and Internship Fairs: Attend in-person and virtual events to discover and network with employers. 
  • Career Advising Appointments: Meet with a career advisor for tailored guidance and advice on job searching, graduate school, and professional development. 
  • Handshake: AU alumni maintain access to Handshake, AU’s comprehensive career management platform. Access Handshake to apply for jobs, connect with employers, register for events, access additional resources, and more.

Further Your Education with a Graduate Degree

  • Tuition Benefits: Take advantage of the Double Eagle Graduate Scholarship to leverage your AU bachelor’s degree toward pursuing your master’s with a guaranteed 30% tuition discount, inclusive of any credit sharing, on eligible graduate degree programs.  

Lifelong Learning  

Looking to gain AI literacy, master the basics of photography, or learn how to balance a spreadsheet? Lifelong learning opportunities at AU support continued skill-building and intellectual curiosity.  

  • Audit a Class: The AU Alumni and Community Audit program enables you to audit one AU course per semester (up to two per summer). With only a $150 fee, these tuition-free courses are ideal for sharpening professional skills.  
  • University Library Access: Alumni enjoy lifetime AU book borrowing privileges, as well as access to select electronic databases.
