Connecting Policy and School Leadership for Social Change

The Administrative Leadership Specialization

To prepare for a role as a PreK-12 principal, associate principal, assistant principal, program director, academic dean, or district-level supervisor, make the most of your Master of Education (MEd) by qualifying you to apply for an Administrative Services Credential. This will cover policy, implementation, and leadership, all within the same 30-credit MEd for those seeking a PreK–12 administration, supervision, and/or school leadership endorsement.

The specialization provides the content knowledge, professional competencies, and leadership dispositions required for effective and equitable educational leadership in schools and districts. With classes overlapping with the policy and leadership studies specialization, this program reflects the interconnected nature of education policy with school leadership. The program combines coursework with applied, practice-based learning experiences, including a required clinical experience in a PreK-12 setting under the mentorship of an experienced building-level leader.
